Privacy Policy for Lawnscapers
Effective date: July 26, 2026
Just ASK Interactive ("we," "us," "our") built the Lawnscapers mobile app as a
free lawn-mowing puzzle game. This policy explains what information the app
collects, why, and how you can control or remove it.
We do not show ads, use advertising or analytics SDKs, offer in-app purchases,
or sell your personal information to anyone. The only automatic data
collection in the app is crash reporting and an anonymous game account, both
described below.
Information We Collect
Local device data (never leaves your device)
- A randomly generated player ID created the first time you open the app.
- Your puzzle progress, settings, gameplay statistics, and locally recorded
best scores.
This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage
deletes it.
Anonymous game account (created automatically)
The first time you open the app it creates an anonymous account through
Firebase Authentication. This account is a random identifier tied to your
installation of the app. It is not linked to your name, email, Google account,
or any advertising identifier, and we cannot use it to identify you personally.
Its only purpose is to let you appear on the leaderboards without signing in,
and to stop anyone from submitting scores in your name. If you uninstall the
app or clear its storage, the identifier is gone and a new one is created next
time — scores submitted under the old one stay on the leaderboard but can no
longer be traced back to you or reclaimed by you.
Information you choose to provide
- Google Sign-In (optional). If you sign in with Google, we receive your
Google account's email address, display name, profile photo, and a stable
account identifier through Firebase Authentication. Sign-in is never
required to play, view leaderboards, submit scores, or save local progress —
its only benefit is keeping your scores if you change device. Signing in
attaches your Google account to the anonymous account described above, so
scores you submitted as a guest remain yours.
- Leaderboard scores. Completing a puzzle submits your score with a
display name to the per-puzzle leaderboard, where it is publicly
visible to other players. This happens whether or not you are signed in.
The display name is the player name you chose in Settings — or
"Anonymous," if you enable the "Anonymous on leaderboards" setting,
which you can do at any time. Submitted scores cannot be edited afterwards;
to remove them, see Data Retention & Deletion below.
- Puzzles you create (optional). If you create and share a puzzle, the
puzzle and your creator name are stored and publicly visible to other
players.
- Feedback submissions (optional). If you send feedback or a bug report,
we receive the message you write, basic device information (device model,
OS version, app version, screen size), and network status. The form gives
you two controls before you submit:
- "Include my player info" — attaches your player name and, if signed
in, your account identifier and email. Turn it off to submit anonymously
(an email you type into the form yourself is still included).
- "Include diagnostic data" (bug reports only) — attaches a short log
of your recent actions in the app, recent error messages, and session
length, to help us reproduce the bug. Turn it off to omit all of it.
- You can also attach a screenshot; it's only captured and sent if you
choose to add one.
Automatically collected diagnostic data
- Crash and error reports. We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically
collect crash logs, non-fatal error reports, stack traces, and device
identifiers (such as a Firebase installation ID) so we can find and fix
bugs. Crash data is not tied to your name or email. Google retains
Crashlytics crash data for approximately 90 days.
What we do not collect
- No precise location, contacts, photos/media (other than a screenshot you
explicitly attach to feedback), microphone, camera, or payment information.
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party ad or analytics networks.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
How We Use Information
We use the information above only to:
- Save your progress and let you play offline.
- Operate the optional global leaderboards and community puzzle sharing.
- Respond to feedback and bug reports you submit.
- Diagnose and fix crashes and errors.
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
Third-Party Service Providers
Lawnscapers relies on Google services to store and process the data described
above, under Google's privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Authentication, Crashlytics)
— stores scores, shared puzzles, feedback submissions, and crash
diagnostics. Data is processed on Google's servers, which may be located
outside your country.
We do not share your information with any other third parties, and we never
sell it.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Local data (progress, settings, local scores) is deleted when you
uninstall the app or clear its app storage.
- Server-stored data (account link, submitted scores, shared puzzles,
feedback) can be deleted on request at any time — see our
Data Deletion page for exactly what gets deleted and how
to ask, or email us directly at the address below. We delete within 30
days of a verified request.
- Crash data is retained by Google for approximately 90 days and then
deleted automatically.
Children's Privacy
Lawnscapers is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children
under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information,
contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or
delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain
processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below or
use the Data Deletion page.
Security
We rely on Google Firebase's infrastructure and industry-standard security
practices (including Firestore security rules restricting writes to
authenticated users) to protect the information we collect. No method of
storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute
security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this
page with a revised effective date.
